Botox • Dysport • Xeomin
Botox has been all over the place in the media – you’d be hard pressed to not realize its major popularity. While Botox claims most of the fame for all wrinkle fighting injections, there are others related treatments that are equally useful and effective—Dysport and Xeomin.
Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are injectable neuromodulators that temporarily inhibit the muscle movements that cause wrinkles through regular facial movements over time. Many people consider these treatments as a regular part of an anti-aging skin program.
In simple scientific terms, Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are only slightly different variations of Bacterium Clostridium Botulinum, or Botulinum Toxin A.
The most targeted areas for these treatments are:
- Areas between the brows
- Crow’s feet or squint lines
- Lines around neck
- Non-aesthetic purposes to reduce sweating as well as manage migraines
Each product is slightly different providing a slightly different effect on the patient, although they also produce similar enough results that allow them to be used interchangeably. All three are safe enough to be used with any skin type or color. Ideally, and when done correctly, the stimulating effects are localized to an area and do not affect surrounding areas.
